September 7th to 9th, I will be once again cycling 275 km from Campbell River to Victoria to support the inspiring transformation in sub-Saharan Africa, where community-based organizations, run by and for grandmothers, are working to turn the tide of HIV & AIDS. This year will be my 9th ride and I am excited and indeed privileged to be part of this wonderful fundraiser.
Being a Canadian grandmother is a joy. Four amazing little grandchildren keep me busy, however Roger and I are always supported by the parents of these precious children. African grandmothers have full responsibility everyday all day for their orphaned grandchildren. These hard working dedicated and compassionate grandmothers need our support. The photo of the African grandmother with her several grandchildren was taken by me in Malawi. What a different life these women lead. I will not forget them.
I am sending this request to you as you have previously contributed to the Grandmothers campaign. I hope you will consider doing so again. The Stephen Lewis Foundation is a highly regarded Canadian organization which is very efficient in providing targeted assistance to the most vulnerable.
If you would like to make a donation, please click on the 'Donate Now' button above the thermometer. It’s simple, fast and totally secure and will make such a difference to the grandmothers of Africa and the children in their care.
My sincere thanks for your consideration.
