Again this year I am cycling from Campbell River to Victoria in support of the grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who are raising their AIDS orphaned grandchildren. A group of grandmothers and grand-others will travel the 275 km distance over a 3 day time period, pedaling in solidarity with these African grandmothers who are working fearlessly and tirelessly to turn the tide against HIV/AIDS. Through the auspices of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, monies raised go directly into the hands of the African grandmothers and the grassroots organizations supporting them on the frontline of the AIDs pandemic.
As a member of Victoria Grandmothers for Africa, our creed is "We Will Not Rest Until They Can Rest". Our primary means of supporting the Grandmothers' Movement is through fundraising.
I ask for your donation to this worthiest of causes. Online donating is simple, secure, and speedy. A tax receipt will be emailed upon receipt of your donation. Of course, donation by cash or cheque is also fine.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.
