Grandmothers and Friends for Africa is excited and proud to be holding our 4th annual Scrabble Party on April 22nd, in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.
The grandmothers of sub-Saharan Africa demonstrate enormous resilience as they raise their orphaned grandchildren and strive toward gaining the equality, respect and resources needed to turn the tide of AIDS in their communities. We stand in solidarity with them and hope you will too.
Great strides have been made in addressing the AIDS epidemic but it is not yet over and its impact will continue to be felt as the grandmothers grow old and their grandchildren mature. The grassroots organizations we support provide vital assistance as the grandmothers provide leadership in creating stable and healthy communities. The attention of the world may be focused elsewhere, but we must not let the efforts of these astounding women go unnoticed. Now is the time to do more, not less.
